So, Moorefield had a snow day recently and I grabbed the camera, got in the Jeep and had a little fun. I spent hours driving around and stopping for shots and had a great time doing it.
However, when I got home and loaded my new snow day photos onto the computer and saw them on the large screen, I noticed something odd; something ugly. Nearly all of them are underexposed!
At first, I couldn’t figure out why. I mean, I shot the same way that I always do. I underexpose a little, as it deepens the shadows to bring out the brighter colors.
And then it hit me. I always shoot under sunny skies. This was my first time shooting under a heavily overcast sky and I failed to compensate for that with my exposure settings. Oops.
Here are my shots for that day. Some of them turned out well, but as you can see, most are dull and grey.
